Thumbs down Is Hard Mode destoying my current achievements ?

I like the idea of Hard Mode. It will give players chance to do lot of stuff they did before once again.

The thing that worries me is decrease in dificulty in Normal Mode. I think it is very unfair to older PvE players.

This difficulty decrease will cheapen titles achieved so far. I don't talk only about Protector titles. Of course theese are affected the most (anyone who ever swear at Thunderhead Keep or Gate of Madness know what I mean).

It will also affect the GMC title. Especially GMC of Tyria (since you had to explore during missions).

I don't know yet if it will work in all the areas or only during missions. If it works everywher then all my GMC titles can go to hell. It wasn't only about going with one arm scrapped and bruised by the nearest wall. Sometimes it required fighting through lot of enemies (Sothern SPeaks).

Also it will cause more players to do "chest runs" as they were easier in high content areas. This affects Wisdom and Trasure Hunter titles.

Since there is lot of players who are only PvP oriented, I will give you a comparision: It is like introducing fame points in Random Arenas.

I wich I could be more articulate, because I can't even describe how disapointed I am.

Maybe it is time to start playing other games, where loyal players are rewarded instead of robbed.

We've also decided to add a number of PvE-only Sunspear skills, which will be available to players through both Normal and Hard Mode.
To me, it doesn't sound like they're making it too terribly easier.
We'll have to wait to see the list of everything they changed, but I don't think it'll be that big of a deal.

if you think that the hard mode will cheapen your current titles then just let the update go un-noticed, for the rest of us it will be something fun and challanging to do.

Seriously fun things to do>vanity any day of the week

I don't understand. How does it cheapen the cartographer title?

If I got it correctly, it goes like this: Everything will stay as it is, but if you want, you can make things harder for yourself.

Aye, From what Gaile says it sounds to me as though they're removing some of the "Just to piss you off..." factor a lot of mobs have like the monks continually kiting. They're GOING to die in the end...and by kiting they're just delaying the inevitable. Normal mode will just have some of the annoyance factor removed while hard mode will be more interesting and challenging. Least that's what it sounds like to me.

I have to agree i would guess and say there going to return gw to similar to how it was before eg. with less AoE evasion on normal mode, while keeping it in for Hard mode etc. which i actually think will make it much more fun, This will make the game easier for new players you can play through the normal game like before with only a few changes that will make enemys less annoying at times such as Gailes mentioned AoE explosions on Afflicted that cause problems for Melee chars etc. I look forward to Hard mode, and the fun it will bring including more xp and gold for me yey its about time tryia got some better money making methods like the other campaigns rather than farming

What's wrong with people? No matter what ANet change, some people will always find a reason to whine about it. Even if ANet improve something or fix an obvious flaw, often by popular demand, some people will still complain about it, asking for some kind of refund for all the "hard work" they had to put into dealing with the problem until it was "nerfed". I'm so sick of this.

You just hit the nail on the head there, all this whining... Can't people just play the game and be done with it?

Ha! Give them a hard mode and they will ask for an easy mode. Half full or half empty? Enough is never enough for some people.
